Doctor Melissa Li-Ng is the Medical Director for the Cleveland Clinic Connected collaboration with Luye Medical Group as well as an endocrinologist. In this role, Dr. Li-Ng is the Chief Physician representing Cleveland Clinic for the Luye Medical Group in Shanghai, China, and provides end-to-end leadership to furthering the goals of this initiative. She is tasked with ensuring the success of the project and assisting with the growth of Cleveland Clinic’s relationship with Luye Medical. She is also serving as co-chair of the Luye Medical-Cleveland Clinic Joint Medical Council (JMC) and will serve as the clinical liaison between the project and all of the clinical institutes for Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Li-Ng received her undergraduate degree from Columbia University and then received her medical degree from Stony Brook School of Medicine in New York. She completed her medical residency at New York University Medical Center. She proceeded to do a research fellowship at the Bone Mineral Research Center at Winthrop University Hospital in New York, doing research on osteoporosis, vitamin D and bone metabolism. Dr. Li-Ng then completed her endocrinology fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. She joined the Endocrinology Department in July 2009. She served as the Associate Program Director of the endocrinology fellowship program from 2011 to 2014.

In 2014, Dr. Li-Ng joined Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, helping to establish the endocrinology department when the hospital opened in 2015. She served as the Chief of Medical Informatics from 2016 to 2017. Dr. Li-Ng returned to Cleveland in August 2017 as an Enterprise Physician Advisor in Medical Operations and as a Staff Physician in the Endocrinology and Metabolism Institute. She was appointed the interim Chair of the Endocrinology and Metabolism Institute from March 2018 to January 2019, overseeing the endocrinology and endocrine surgery departments. In April 2019, she was appointed Medical Director for the Cleveland Clinic Connected collaboration with Luye Medical Group.
