Candice Fathi is a dynamic TEDx speaker, a semi-finalist at TEDxTysons (March 2019) and a selected speaker for TEDxAshburn: “Everyone’s a Genius; Find Yours”. She is also an advocate of neuro-diversity in our communities. Candice is the Founder & CEO of Marvel Village for Exceptional Families – where families with different-abilities are empowered, educated, and equipped. Marvel Village’s foundation and core value is based on the concept that ‘Everyone is Created on Purpose, With a Purpose.’
Candice recently authored an assistive technologies children’s book with the help of her eldest son’s illustrations. Their book’s illustrations are registered ® at the Library of Congress. Additionally, Candice presented her book to the US State Department, Foreign Press Association, to a cohort of international families living with different abilities. As a proud first-generation master’s graduate from George Mason University’s Graduate School of Education in Special Education, Candice was selected as the 2018 Student Speaker for the Degree Celebration at the EagleBank Arena.

Candice has managed and directed operations of a large international non-profit organization including developing and deploying a strategic plan that led to an 82% organizational growth within a four year period. She also initiated and implemented multiple pilot initiatives as well as expanded program operations through appointing and training regional leaders. Candice was also responsible for training volunteers in affiliates throughout the US, Europe, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
While serving in Istanbul for a large Christian organization, she directed various programs and the international operations center within a complex legal and unstable political environment. She also developed and expanded humanitarian aid programs, volunteer coordination and large-scale operations management. She has trained over 20 team leads, while providing support for other regional operations as well as presenting and conducting workshops in Turkish.
Candice has taught ESL in addition to creating curriculum for both adults and children. She has implemented creative lessons for sensory learners and children with special needs using the “storyline” method and practicumis.
