Gia Lamothe is a producer as well as being a freelance fashion designer and costume designer. She has produced fashion shows, events of all types and many musical revues over the years. Gia’s love for producing came after already garnering much attention and admiration in the fashion and costume industries. As such, she has outfitted several concerts including at Madison Square Garden, NJPAC (New Jersey Performing Arts Center), Boston Fleet Center and at the AT&T Center in Texas. She has even designed specialty costumes for many clients that were later used in elaborate fantasy weddings and special occasions.
Gia played a critical role in the production of several musicals that were later re-imagined as video representations. She is gifted in the art of creating celebrated and famed characters through costume design and originality. Gia has enjoyed visualizing and originating costumes for several plays such as OUR TOWN and 110 IN THE SHADE in NYC. And, by outfitting performers and actors in several movie shorts, she has worked with well known celebrities who have worn her creations. Gia has provided wardrobe services for critically acclaimed shows including Riverdance, Beauty and the Beast, 42nd St, Anything Goes, Nice Work If You Can Get It, Memphis, The Metropolitan Opera as well as One Life To Live, ESPN and ABC Primetime shows.
Gia served on an Emmy Award-Winning design team that received 3 Emmy’s for three years consecutively and created specialty items with a New York manufacturing company for several seasons. Although she has spent the majority of her life involved with fashion and costume design, she now produces musical revues and fashion shows.
Gia has given talks on fashion at various schools, spoken at secular and non-secular events, taught classes at Theatrical Wardrobe Union and directed audiences about decorum at the workplace or in public gatherings. Currently, Gia is working on costuming an upcoming movie. Below are just a few of her accomplishments.
