Kevin Darby is a director and producer of worship services by training and developing vocal and instrumental talent in local church communities. Kevin believes the arts are undervalued in many churches, and seeks to inspire these groups to see the life changing power of music. He is on a mission to change the way people worship by training and educating worship leaders and talent with proven techniques he’s learned from over 40 years of leading music ministries. Kevin writes and arranges music with songs that are specifically designed to engage the heart, soul, and mind on the deepest levels. His target audiences are those that desire honesty, realness, depth, and heart in your music as well as those that want to be challenged, moved, inspired, and connected to God and each other. He helps singers and musicians find the passion in themselves and even more powerfully when they join together. Ultimately, his goal is to teach individuals and church groups to raise the bar for what they expect of themselves and others in their worship by getting outside of their comfort zone and realizing the potential within.
Kevin lead worship services for groups of several thousand from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles to the Boston Opera House. He was personally most delighted when he saw small groups (with no professional musicians) through consistent hard work grow to create strong and powerful worship events beyond what they could have imagined. In terms of writing and producing music, he has produced 7 CD’s and written or arranged over 100 spiritual songs. He has been contracted to write music for films and community events, such as the Special Olympics. His first album,” Be Still, My Soul” was produced during his time in full time music ministry in North Carolina. This album sold out and is being re-released for the first time with all tracks re-mastered.
His desire is for the music that he produces to bring life to those organizations that are built on Christian values. More than that, he wants to personally meet, mentor, and train individuals and groups of people to be the best singer, musicians, or worship teams that they can be. And, for those that are inspired more being “listeners” than performing or speaking, Kevin hopes to speak and perform for them with messages and songs that are sure to encourage. Kevin looks for those that want to worship the Lord with passion and freedom, but that may feel stiff and disconnected. For those that are ready to worship in new ways but may have felt restricted by their past experiences, culture, or the expectations of others, Kevin offers good news that might just resonate with them. Kevin serves Christian organizations, inspirational musicians, and even local churches or Christian conferences by bringing new life and spirit through worship workshops and coaching.
